Amy Jungkeit manages strategic initiatives and oversees day-to-day management for the Office of the Provost. She became the FAR at Vanguard during the 2021-22 school year. As the FAR, Junkeit was selected by the President to be a liaison between the faculty and the athletics department, and as a representative of the institution in the PacWest Conference and NCAA affairs. The FAR shares responsibility for the integrity of the athletics program and assists athletics in establishing a culture of compliance with national, conference and institutional regulations. The involvement of the FAR includes eligibility and academic related duties, student-athlete well-being, maintaining an atmosphere of compliance and institutional control, and assisting in investigations of alleged rules violations. The FAR works directly with the department of athletics, its coaches, staff, and student-athletes. The faculty’s voice and influence regarding intercollegiate athletics are channeled primarily through the FAR.
On her role in the Office of the Provost, Junkeit will effectuate the strategic priorities as articulated in Ascend 2030: Our Strategic Vision for Academic Renewal by fostering collaboration with university leaders, building strong systems, coordinating with faculty and staff across Academic Affairs, and driving major campus initiatives. In addition, Amy oversees academic affairs search processes and coordinates onboarding new faculty; coaches and optimizes support for administrative coordinators across the college and schools; and coordinates shared governance processes, including faculty committee membership. She serves as the primary point of contact for scheduling meetings with the Provost.
