LA MIRADA, Calif. — Riding a high from a combined 26-12 blowout across three games last Friday, the Vanguard Lions (7-3) headed to La Mirada to face off against British Columbia (1-3) in a double header. Vanguard came in full force and won both games easily due to a strong offense by the Lions. The first game ended with Vanguard leading 8-4 while the second game was cut short on a mercy rule after six innings with Vanguard holding British Columbia at 10-2.
WEST COVINA, Calif. - Going into day two of the 2017 NAIA So. Cal Classic, the Vanguard University Lions (5-3) strived for more consistency after their opening day win and loss. LA MIRADA, Calif. – Vanguard moved away from home for the first time this year to take part in the 2017 NAIA So. Cal Classic hosted in conjunction by Biola University and Triple Crown Sports. Vanguard (3-2) was pitted against Embry Riddle and Southern Oregon (RV), ending the day with one loss and one win and a narrow 9-7 combined scoring edge.
COSTA MESA, Calif. - After starting their season off strong with a win over Cal State University San Marcos, the Vanguard University Lions (2-1) played the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas (1-1) in a double header. However, game two was a completely different story, with the Lions clawing back to a decisive 6-1 victory.
COSTA MESA, Calif. - Starting the 2017 season off at home against the Cal State San Marcos (0-1), the Vanguard University Lions (1-0) shutout the Cougars 5-0.
