COSTA MESA, Calif. - The Golden State Athletic Conference has released the 2015 awards for men's and women's cross country. Vanguard was represented four times on the Scholar Athlete Teams. All of the Lions are first time winners.
IRVINE, Calif. - Both the men's and women's cross country teams from Vanguard University participated in their first meet of the year held by UC Irvine. The UCI Invitational saw 12 teams compete on the men's side and 15 for the women. Vanguard was one of three GSAC school to take part in the meet. The Lion men are ranked 23rd in the nation.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Vanguard runs a successful day at the NAIA National Championships at McAlpine Creek Park. The Lions were represented by Keili Dorn (FR/Kailua-Kona, HI) on the women's side and Zach DeAtley (JR/Victorville, CA), Zach Hunt (JR/Sparks, NV), and Jared Shohfi (SR/Pleasanton, CA) (JR/Pleasanton, CA) for the men.
COSTA MESA, Calif. - Late this afternoon, the NAIA released the automatic qualifiers, at large bids, and individual runners who have qualified for the 2015 NAIA Championships to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina. Four runners from Vanguard were chosen to repsresent the Blue and Gold.
FULLERTON, Calif. - In the final regular season meet of the cross country season, the Men's and Women's teams competed in the Titan Invitational on Friday evening. Running on the campus course that started on the track, the men finished in sixth place and the women did not qualify for a team score due to injuries.
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Vanguard University's Men's and Women's Cross Country teams made the trek up to Santa Clara University to take part in the Bronco Invitational over the weekend. Many personal records were set by the Lions, highlighted by none other than Zach DeAtley (JR/Victorville, CA) dropping his best time by 46 seconds to 25:27.
