AZUSA, Calif. - This weekend, the men's and women's track teams competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University. During the all day event, many new personal bests and season bests were recorded. On Saturday, the women's 4x100 racd at the Beach Invitation hosted by Cerritos College.
COSTA MESA, Calif. - As the 2015 vanguard Track and Field season rounds into full form with GSAC Championships nearing, the women's squad has already commited four athletes for next years roster. One transfer and three incoming freshman round out the current commits.
SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The men's and women's track teams of Vanguard University competed in the Mangrum Invitational hosted by Cal State San Marcos on Saturday. Fresh with some new faces, the Lions set many new personal bests. One male and one female athlete set qualifying times for NAIA Nationals as well.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Lions traveled to the Point Loma Invitational this weekend and walked away with nineteen new personal bests, including a school record being beat by 11 seconds. Josh Espinoza (SR/Glendale, AZ) and Joi Goynes (SR/Las Vegas, NV) booked time that qualify for NAIA Outdoor Nationals this spring.
FULLERTON, Calif. - This weekend, the Vanguard Men's and Women's track teams competed in two separate meets. On Friday, they participated in the Oxy Distance Carnival where four Lions set new personal records, including Josh Espinoza (SR/Glendale, AZ) who finished 3rd overall in the Men's 10,000 meters. Vanguard matched up well in the Ben Brown Invitational on Saturday as six more personal records were established including three by Jarome Grant (SO/San Bernadino, CA).
POMONA, Calif. - Vanguard's men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Carl Rossi Relays hosted by Claremont McKenna College on Saturday, February 28th. Joi Goynes (SR/Las Vegas, NV) placed third overall in the women's 100 meters and five more personal bests were set, marking the three straight weekends with personal records falling.
