PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – Top-seed Vanguard clawed its way back from a 2-1 deficit after doubles to win the 2014 Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament by a final score of 5-3. With the victory, The Pride moves to 16-8 overall and extends its streak of GSAC takedowns to 12 matches.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - No. 9 Vanguard enters into the 2014 GSAC Women's Tennis Tournament as the No. 1 seed after going undefeated (10-0) in league play and winning the regular season title. The second annual conference tourney will take place at Indian Wells Tennis Garden on April 15th, 16th and 17th. The Lions reached the final in 2013, but finished second to Westmont.

On Saturday, the 2014 Lions joined an elite group of VU teams to have gone undefeated in Golden State Athletic Conference play, completing their perfect 10-0 sweep of league matches with an 8-1 victory over GSAC rival Concordia.
