MONTGOMERY, Ala. – In the third and final matchup between #3 Faulkner (49-13) and #16 Vanguard (40-17-1), home runs were flying out of the park left, right, and center and the game ended with the 5-3 advantage leaning the way of the Eagles. Today's loss ends the Lions season onE win shy of a second straight trip to the NAIA Avista World Series. Faulkner was announced a few hours later that they would be the top seed in the 10-team bracket in Lewiston, Idaho.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Vanguard University (40-16) started the day as one of three teams remaining in the Montgomery Bracket held at Harrison Field on the campus of Faulkner University. The third seeded Lions squared off against Texas A&M- Texarkana (33-20) in the first game of the day and earned a chance to play again due to a 14-7 victory. In the nightcap, the Blue and Gold excelled and beat the top seeded and third ranked team in the country, Faulkner University (48-13), by a 5-4 score in walk-off fashion.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Lions captured 3rd place finishes in both the Men's and Women's team standings at the Golden State Athletic Conference Track & Field Championship hosted by Westmont College Thursday and Friday. Junior Winston Lawson (FR/Santa Ana, CA) led the Men with a team high 26.25 points while freshman Lydia Perrigo (FR/Hartsburg, MO) paced the women with 24 points. The Men's team finished with 126.5 points (an all-time high score for the men's program) and the women landed with a team score of 80.5 points. For the first time in program history every single Vanguard competitor (for both the men and women) scored points for the Lions.

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The 13th ranked Vanguard Lions (36-12, 21-7) bounced back from a rough outing the previous weekend by beating Biola (27-24, 14-14) with a score of 10-4. Sean Isaac (SR/Redondo Beach, CA) secured his 13th win of the season lasting six innings and striking out seven batters.

ATHERTON, Calif. – Continuing play in the GSAC Tournament, the Lions (34-22) were matched up with Arizona Christian (35-14-1) in the first game, a team they hadn't beat in four earlier tries. Game one ended with a similar results as VU fell in a tight contest. This moved the team to a fifth game of the year against San Diego Christian (33-16) with their season on the line. The Hawks ended up winning the contest by a 9-1 score.

COSTA MESA, Calif. – Coming off the most successful season in program history, the Vanguard Volleyball team is gearing up for another run at it all in 2016. Big factors in the upcoming season will be the new recruiting class, which adds four more commits to the Pride. Callie Guasti, Lindsey Ng, Tobi Sanders, and Kamelah Noel are on board for next year and are fired up to wear the Blue and Gold this Fall.

COSTA MESA, Calif. - Jose Rojas (SR/Anaheim, CA) continues to add to his treasure chest of recognition and awards as the senior slugger was voted Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his efforts on the field during March 14th-19th. In the premiere conference last weekend with Menlo, he blasted two home runs that directly led to victories for the Blue and Gold.

COSTA MESA, Calif. – With a buzz around the ballpark similar to playoff baseball, the #18 Lions and #25 Oaks faced off in a key conference double-header. Menlo (22-10, 9-6) took the first game 12-2 before Vanguard (21-7-1, 11-4) fought back to capture a 3-2 victory and took the series two games to one.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Ending the road trip, the 18th ranked Lions (17-14) split the twin bill with Embry-Riddle University of Arizona (8-20). An offensive battled overtook the first game which ended in a narrow defeat for the Pride, but fought back and took the nightcap by three runs.

COSTA MESA, Calif. - In a banquet held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Sunday, March 6, the Golden State Athletic Conference honored 18 student-athletes from across the conference with the Cliff Hamlow Champion of Character Award. Dr. Hamlow was also a key leader in the creation of the NAIA's Champions of Character program.
