Coming to an Event at VU

If you plan to come to a Vanguard University home event, you won't be closer to the action at any other venue within the GSAC.  "The Pit"  which was once the Santa Ana Army Air Base's Cadet Service Club, is the home to our Volleyball, Men's and Women's Basketball teams, was built in the 1930's. The bleachers come right to the sideline of play, which creates a highly intense arena for players and fans alike. 

  
Our newly renovated Soccer field allows the fans to be12 feet away from the playing surface and cheer on the Blue and Gold. Our Softball and Baseball fields allow you to enjoy the sunny California coastal temperatures with unrestricted views of our fields.  Our tennis teams play on the other side the OC Fairgrounds at the Costa Mesa Tennis center, which also host many top ranked tournaments.  Our Water Polo and Swimming teams call the Costa Mesa Aquatic Center home, which was built in the fall 2010.  Our Cross Country teams host their annual meet at Fairview Park which is very fan friendly and allows spectators to cheer on their teams, while the VU Track team trains and competes at Orange Coast College which is just around the corner from VU. 

 
 
   
Some information about VU home events:
  • All home events charge admissions ~CASH ONLY~ (Soccers, Volleyball, Softball, Baseball, and Basketballs) ~all events are general admission, with some reserved sections.
    For adults - $6.00, Student with ID's - $3.00, Children under 6- free. 
    VU Faculty, Staff, Students, and Administration are free with valid ID.
  • Parking is free on campus but very limited.  No passes are needed to park. (Do not park in the City Hall Parking lot, you could recieve a ticket)  Campus Map

  • VU honors Vanguard GOLD passes for regular season HOME games and only NAIA passes for all sports in regular and postseason play.
  • Doors/gates at home events open 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time.
  • Concessions are sold at all home regular season and playoff games.
  • Vanguard University has a no smoking, no tobacco products, and alchohol free campus policy.  Spectators who violate this policy will be required to leave the event.
  • Facilities will close within 30 minutes of the conclusion of all events.
  

Prohibited Items at all VU Home sporting events

  • Noisemakers including thunder sticks, musical instruments, whistles, air horns and
    boom boxes
  • Weapons or projectiles
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Glass, metal or hard plastic containers of any size
  • Backpacks, bags and purses larger than 14" square
  • Boxes or wrapped packages of any size
  • Animals (other than service animals required because of a disability)
  • Balls, toys or sports equipment
  • Helium balloons
  • Laser pointers
  • Poles or sticks
  • Monopods, tripods or unauthorized video cameras
  • Skates, skateboards, scooters or bicycles
