COSTA MESA, Calif. – As the summer month's tick by, Vanguard Baseball is busy across the country. Before the team starts working on getting geared up for the 2017-18 season, 12 members of the Blue and Gold are working on their craft during the dog days of summer. In all, eight teams will feature Lions players on it.

Be sure to stay up to date on the Vanguard Baseball Field renovation occurring this summer! The University and Athletic Department are still in the fundraising process and you can help foster the next era of Lions Baseball! With a target date of November 1st, the renovated field with feature new dugouts, state of the art tension netting system for the backstop, improved spectator experience included branding through the facility, new field service and pro style grass infield and outfield, as well as a new irrigation system. The project has been spearheaded by Jeff Motske and the rest of the committee includes Steve Castle, Mark Deushane, Tim Fortugno, Donovan McReynolds, Ron Nelson, Cindy Overeem, and Mike Peterson. Vanguard University has set a goal of $500,000 to complete the vision for this project which will launch the baseball program to new heights both in the GSAC and across the NAIA.
