COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Golden State Athletic Conference released its fourth Player of the Week Award and first in the New Year. Claire Lamunu (SR/Kampala, Uganda)'s torrid play has earned her the recognition for the first time this season. Amidst her record breaking season, this is the first time in Lamunu's career that she has received this award.
The sixth ranked Lions swept through their longest road trip of conference play with a 2-0 record, making it 10 straight wins for the team. Lamunu is a huge reason why. This week she tallied 26.5 points, 12 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and three assists in just over 29 minutes per game. Lamunu is making an early case for GSAC Player of the Year with her dominance inside the paint.
The next outing for Claire and the rest of the Blue and Gold is Wednesday, January 11th at 7:30 p.m. against Saint Katherine College in The Pit.
