LA MIRADA, Calif. - After a tight 10-9 loss in Saturday's opener, No. 24 Vanguard (28-18) rallied to post a huge 11-2 win over Golden State Athletic Conference opponent Biola in the nightcap. GSAC Pitcher of the Week Clayton Voechting (SR/Temecula, CA) (7-4) notched the victory, while catcher John Collins (SR/Fallbrook, CA) paced the Lions offensively with a single, a double and a homerun in game two.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – Top-seed Vanguard clawed its way back from a 2-1 deficit after doubles to win the 2014 Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament by a final score of 5-3. With the victory, The Pride moves to 16-8 overall and extends its streak of GSAC takedowns to 12 matches.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – No. 4 Vanguard (18-4) allowed no points to be scored by its two challengers at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in the 2014 Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament. It was fitting then, that the Lions hoisted the championship trophy with pride after besting No. 11 Concordia 5-0 in Thursday's final match.

LA MIRADA, Calif. – Biola hit a walk-off single to hand No. 24 Vanguard a tough Golden State Athletic Conference loss on Wednesday at Eagles Diamond Field. Senior catcher John Collins did everything in his power to keep his team out front with a double and a two-run homerun, but it was not meant to be as the Eagles took the game 6-5.

EL CAJON, Calif. – Clayton Voechting (SR/Temecula, CA) (6-4) was excellent on the mound Saturday as he and No. 14 Vanguard picked up a 5-1 Golden State Athletic Conference win against sixth-ranked San Diego Christian at the SDC Field. Voechting two-hit the Hawks, throwing six innings for the Lions while surrendering just one earned run. He also managed four strikeouts in the outing.
