COSTA MESA, Calif.Jordan Moak (JR/Sulphur, LA) tallied a win for the Lions on Tuesday against Bethesda after pitching five innings, allowing one run and striking out four. Moak moves to 1-0 on the year while propelling Vanguard to 29-18 overall. Catcher John Collins (SR/Fallbrook, CA) continued to rake for The Pride with a four-hit performance to lead all players.

COSTA MESA, Calif. – Vanguard's dynamic pitcher-catcher combo of Rachel Stalford (JR/San Diego, CA) and Breanne Gomez (JR/Santa Ana, CA) swept the Golden State Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week and Player of the Week awards on April 21 for their performances against Arizona Christian and Azusa Pacific.

IRVINE, Calif. - The Golden State Athletic Conference Softball Tournament is back.  All six  teams will compete in the tournament April 24-26 to be hosted by GSAC Champion Concordia University in Irvine, Calif.  For the first time since 2011, the conference will stage a postseason tournament.  The addition of a first-year softball program at San Diego Christian gives the GSAC the NAIA-required 6 member schools with the sport, allowing the return of the tournament.

LA MIRADA, Calif. - After a tight 10-9 loss in Saturday's opener, No. 24 Vanguard (28-18) rallied to post a huge 11-2 win over Golden State Athletic Conference opponent Biola in the nightcap. GSAC Pitcher of the Week Clayton Voechting (SR/Temecula, CA) (7-4) notched the victory, while catcher John Collins (SR/Fallbrook, CA) paced the Lions offensively with a single, a double and a homerun in game two.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – Top-seed Vanguard clawed its way back from a 2-1 deficit after doubles to win the 2014 Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament by a final score of 5-3. With the victory, The Pride moves to 16-8 overall and extends its streak of GSAC takedowns to 12 matches.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – No. 4 Vanguard (18-4) allowed no points to be scored by its two challengers at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in the 2014 Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament. It was fitting then, that the Lions hoisted the championship trophy with pride after besting No. 11 Concordia 5-0 in Thursday's final match.

Senior catcher John Collins did everything in his power to keep his team out front with a double and a two-run homerun, but it was not meant to be as the Eagles took the game 6-5.
